The Prize
The overall winner of the Bocuse d’Or candidate World Final is presented with the Bocuse d'Or trophy and with €20,000 in prize money. However, the prestige of winning the competition brings the kind of recognition that most chefs can only dream about. The winner of the first ever Bocuse d’Or candidate, Jacky Freon, commented on the huge amount of media interest that followed and reported that in the two months after his win, the turnover in his restaurant increased by 40%.
